Gucha Community Based Organization has HIV ANS AIDS as one of the main programs for the people of Gucha Community. The CBO with the help of the Health committee has been able to have the HIV AND AIDS program run with a lot of ease. The Health Committee does the preliminary work of gathering information concerning those people living with HIV and AIDS and then pass the information to the Community Health Workers who then strategize on how to approach the patients for purposes of reducing unnecessary resistance.

The CBO through the assistance of the Health committee, has assisted the CBO identify a total of three hundred and fifty (350) HIV AIDS patients who have fully accepted to be under the monitoring and supervision of the CBO. The CBO takes care of the patients from their own home by using a program that is famously known as HOME BASED CARE where we have Community Health Workers (CHWs) do regular home visits to monitor and assist the patients and also give regular reports on the conditions of the patients

Some of the care given to the patients includes among others; regular supply of food such rice, beans, maize flour, well treated mosquito nets and blankets. The main objective of this is to ensure that all people living with HIV and AIDS live a well sustained life and able to eat a balanced diet in order to boost their immunity and also help them in resisting any more advancement in the body.

The CBO currently works with a total number of 50 Community Health Workers (CHWs) who work hand in hand with Home Based Care givers (HBC) who are well trained on Home based care services to the people living with HIV and AIDS.
